Bighorn National forest

The Bighorn National Forest is the home to countless miles of dispersed camping as long as you're in the National Forest. REMEMBER, you can stay there for 14 days, you must be 100 feet from a watershed, watch for fire bans, and pack out your trash! Contact the Bighorn National Forest for more information.

Tongue River Canyon

There is free camping in Tongue River Canyon that is managed by the Amsden Creek Wildlife Habitat Management Area. You can only camp in designated areas. The camping areas are clearly marked and there are limited areas. If it is full, you can check out The Foothills Motel and Camping in Dayton, WY (5-miles away).

Leigh Creek Campground

The Leigh Creek Campground is nestled along the pines at the base of Ten Sleep Canyon. This campground is open seasonally. Visit the Bighorn National Forest website for additional details.
